The documentary
I’m back in the ring again, starting fresh on a new documentary project. You begin with all these pieces and you try to put them together, like a puzzle. But this puzzle has sound, moving images and a whole host of other factors to be examined. This puzzle also might be missing pieces and it is up to you to find a way to make it work, to make the viewer see it and hear it - the message.
back to the streets
I have been out more lately, walking around San Francisco shooting from the hip; those snapshots of people in urban environments… very raw and very stimulating; the reason I do it. Patiences and time. Learning how to slow it down, turn off the brain and look for the poetry in the form of the visual. Everything has to line-up, and you can’t force it or control it. It controls you and you take what it gives. This is what I have learned. Just be there, that is 80% of it. And not getting rattled by what is going on around you, seeing with all of your heart, mind, and eye.

Started on a new mission today, back to the JKL for the next three months. So when I saw this sign this morning it all made sense and the title to a new Flickr set was created, check it below.
I have been going through the Paris archives from last year, editing the photos and posting them to flickr. What an amazing city, I need to spend more time there. Stay tuned to the link below, as I continue to work through this mass of photos.
